Viewshed’s a popular word for view.
One syllable worked, but now we use two!
I know it sounds smart. I don’t mean to offend,
but…
Where does the view start? Where does the shed end?

And so my gentle tirade against the stupidification of the language allows me to throw another unrequested art history note at you. “Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog” is an 1818 painting by Caspar David Friedrich, who was blessed with the opportunity to achieve true fame after he died. This piece by the German Romanticist was given the nod to be called a masterpiece in the 1970s. Friedrich loved to use Rückenfigur (German: Rear-facing figure) in his paintings. This painting might be the most famous Rückenfigur in art. So Caspar went from out of the game to batting cleanup in only a half century. Go figure. Or Ruckenfigur.
